My first finger painting! And yes, I tried to eat some paint!

There's that guilty look again!
This summer, I learned to eat with a fork! Taking my first bite so triumphantly!!
Mommy's not sure who's messier... Just me, or me AND daddy together!!

As summer comes to its 'unofficial' end...

Labor Day weekend is often called the 'unofficial end to summer' so, as the end of this weekend draws near, I want to reminisce about the fun summer our little family has had.

Me!
Being pregnant during the summer is for the birds! I've made it though, and I'm actually excited for Fall to come. The heat this summer was almost unbearable! Lots of ice cream/popsicles, days at the pool, Sonic cherry limeades, and A/C have helped me to survive the last few months. Now I'm looking forward to cooler temps and the last weeks of this pregnancy.

Ace!
All work and no play...Ace has been hard at work ever since his last 10 day vacation. He still looks forward to his days off though when he can sleep and sleep and spend time with us! He's gotten to squeeze in a boys only fishing/camping trip while I was at home in Cali visiting my family, a few Rockies games, and is looking forward to Broncos games in the Fall.

Acey!
Our little man has accomplished so much this summer! He recently turned 18 months old, and now as a full fledged toddler, can do many things! He's not only walking, he's running, loves to play hide and seek, still enjoys reading or being read to, saying a few more words (namely- Thomas, cracker, snack, and more that we're still trying to decipher!). Acey loves the outdoors (like his daddy!), water and swimming, taking walks to the park, and climbing on and jumping off of any piece of furniture he can before mommy and daddy see! He's cutting a molar now and another front tooth on the bottom which brings us to the grand total of 8 teeth! Hopefully he'll get some more soon to help him eat all the snacks he loves to eat! Speaking of eating, Acey has learned how to use a fork! Nevermind the spoon, he loves to spear any type of food with his fork. He's gotten so good at it! Our bubba still loves his Thomas the train, and any type of car or truck. He truly is a boy's boy!

Catching up!

Now that it's just little ol' me again (no more late night tv w/Lynette!) I need to get everyone caught up on how our summer's been! Since I'm feeling the sleepies coming on, I'll just give a quick run down then post pics sooner (hopefully!) rather than later!

I'm about 30 weeks preggers and as I get bigger, I'm becoming restless with being pregnant! It's harder to sleep, breathe, eat, sit, stand, walk, or do just about anything comfortably! I'm constantly feeling a limb in or around my rib cage, and I have to pee constantly! I've said bye bye to 2nd trimester energy and hello to third trimester exhaustion. I'm really ready to have this baby. I know that my due date is November 9, but I am secretly hoping I go into labor a little bit earlier! (Full term is considered 37 weeks, so hopefully no earlier than that!)

Around my 24th week, I was having some issues with what seemed like preterm labor contractions. I had to take it easy for a little while and make sure I was drinking plenty of water, and soon things returned to normal. Glucose test came back good, and now, as I'm nearing the middle of my last trimester, doctor visits are changing from every 4 weeks to every 2! Crazy how time flies!

Still no name picked out for sure. We've got our favorites, but I really think our deciding factor is going to be simply seeing precious baby boy #2's little face in person!

In the coming week, I'll be registering for our tour of the hospital, as well as a breastfeeding class (hoping to BF for a year this time! I made it 4 months exclusively, and 6 months supplementing w/ formula for Acey). With Acey, I never made it to the hospital tour since I went into labor 4 weeks early! So I've learned my lesson! Register and get it done early!

Off to bed I go...More catching up to come!

When life gives you lemons...

When things don't quite turn out the way you want them to, or an opportunity slips through your fingers, it can cause you to re-evaluate who you are, what you are doing, and where you're headed in life. Your confidence is checked, your pride is shot, your hopes dashed.

You have to remember that you are where you are for a reason. Ultimately, He has a plan for you, and His ways are not the ways of man- which is why many times we can't understand why we're in the situations we're in. Having faith and knowing that things happen for a reason and that it all will work out in the end will help pull you through hard times.

Being thankful for your faith in God, the love of your family, and their unending support is most important. Although circumstances may change, these things always remain the same.

Nesting!

Thank goodness for my nesting instincts kicking in lately! I'm on a roll with organizing and cleaning! My in-laws will be visiting this upcoming week, so my hard work is paying off! Our bedroom looks gorgeous (so proud of the space we freed up in our closet!) and now on to the spare "bedroom"! I've been going crazy with bins (they always go on sale this time of year!) in all shapes and sizes, now I just need to find space to put the bins! Made one trip to Goodwill to donate yesterday, and will possibly need to run there once more. Got our carpets cleaned yesterday morning and now the living room carpet looks like new again!

P.S. So excited for the in-laws to visit! Acey can't wait to play w/ his nana and poppi! Not to mention- Ace and I can't wait to have our much anticipated date night @ Dave & Busters!

Just wondering...

Why is it that when you have a child, all your alone time in the bathroom disappears?? Seriously! It's like a luxury just to shower for 20 minutes without a little face popping through the bathroom door!

And, I only have 1! What happens when you have 2, or 3 kids?? =)
